Abstract

Air drilled boreholes have for a long time presented problems in forma- tion evaluation. Many logging tools exhibit every different behaviour in an air environment than in liquid. Neutron porosity logging has been a parti cularly bothersome problem, as the extremely successful density/neutron combination could not be utilized in air filled welts, without resorting to the sequential suite using the single detector SNP* tool.
