Abstract

Production logging surveys often encounter two- and three-phase flows. In these flows, suites of appropriate production logs advantageously promote accurate interpretations by showing the origins of hydrocarbon and water production. Five field examples show the practical advantages of these suites in two- and three-phase flows, and the practical advantages and limitations of the various logs in two- and three-phase flows are explain- ed. Appropriate calibration charts (derived from a surface flow loop) are shown and methods of analyzing the logs are discussed, using practical relationships between the logs.
