Abstract

One of the major problems in undertaking regional geologic projects involving the use of digital well log data has been the significant variation in well log response from well to well. Whether due to tool malfunction/calibration, differing vintage of logging tools, differing logging companies, bad hole conditions, etc., some consistent method of reducing these response fluctuations and accentuating the actual geologic tool response is necessary if the log data are to provide useful solutions to geologic problems.
