Abstract

The accurate evaluation of hydrocarbon potential of thin bed reservoirs has become increasingly important. Determination of realistic water saturations in thinly-bedded, laminated sand-shale sequences or carbonate stringers is dependent upon the vertical resolution of the resistivity and porosity measurements acquired through wireline logging instruments.
