Abstract

into a meaningful interpretation. Conventional log-inject-log procedures used in Southeastern Saskatchewan were intended to define the resource base for enhanced recovery procedures. Re sidual oil saturation values could be determined in portions of the pay zone in the wells tested. Connate water saturations indicated in the remainder were much lower than the traditional 35% indicated by electric logs. The indicated values were subsequently con- firmed in the Willmar Field by coring a well using lease crude oil and performing whole core water saturation measurements. The resource base for en- hanced recovery may thus be much larger than pre- viously believed.
