Abstract

The oil industry uses borehole measurements of elec- trical characteristics, radioactivity, density and other physical properties to determine quantitatively rock and fluid properties of significance. These same borehole measurements are available to the minting industry for quantitative calculations. Standard measuring devices iohich are lowered into the borehole on electrical cables are available to measure resistivity, natural gamma radiation, density, velocity of soaoul and hydrogen index (neutron Porosity).
