Abstract

Signal theory demonstrates that it should be possible to produce sonic-density borehole logs from seismic reflection traces. In practice, the process has been defeated by limitations in the quality of the input data. Recent developments in seismic data instrumentation and processing technology mow make it possible to produce a seismic sonic-density log, the ‘Seislog’, on a production basis.
