Abstract

Although introduced in the fifties, acoustic logging still utilizes only a small fraction of the information available in the acoustic signal. The objective of full-wave acoustic logging is to use more of this information to determine formation properties. Such properties include Atp, Ats, AtslAtp, lithology, rock elastic constants, P and S wave attenuation and seismic reflection coefficients.
