Abstract
The borehole televiewer has conventionally been used for fracture ob- servation and casing evaluation. However, the standard analog field presen- tation, using a Polaroid camera or a fiber optics recorder, has limited the utility of the tool to a qualitative device. By simultaneously digitizing the acoustic reflectance and acoustic travel time information frcxn tele- viewer waveforms recorded on videotape, and manipulating the digital data, we can use the tool both qualitatively and quantitatively.
