Abstract

INTRODUCTION Wireline log data often are used to infer permeabilities in uncored intervals. Usually a log-response-to-perme- ability transform is developed with a limited number of core plug measurements. Such core plug measurements may not be representative of the full range of permeabil- ities encountered in a formation and do not provide a good "training" set for predicting permeabilities.
