Abstract

INTRODUCTION In addition to a number of other production type logs, several pulsed neutron logs were obtained during 1973/74 in the Kaybob Beaverhill Lake oil field located in the Swan Hills area of Alberta. The main purpose for running these particular logs was to assist reservoir engineers in assessing the effective- ness of the waterflood secondary scheme, to obtain such data as: I Waterflood sweep efficiency. In particular, obtain a more accurate profile of the vertical sweep as premature breakthrough has occurred in some of the wells (water preferentially flowing through the more permeable zones).
