Abstract

With the availability of the Compensated Formation Density log and the Sidewall Neutron log has come an increased emphasis on mixed-lithology log analysis. Evidence of this trend is the development of two-log overlays, computer programs using simultaneous equations or linear programs, and two-log cross-plot methods. The MN theory worked out by Schlumbergerl has given the log analyst a new concept of matrix determination from logs. The MN Product method discussed in this paper puts the log responses into a form suitable for a mixed-lithology analysis in which LOGAN programs can be utilized.
