Abstract
The Electromagnetic Propagation Tool (EPT’`) provides unique information for the evaluation of hydrocarbon reserves. By the nature of the EPT measurement, an accurate number for the bulk volume of water in the flushed zone of a formation can be obtained. This measurement is virtually independent of the resistivity of the formation water which makes it ideal for use in areas where Rw is variable or unknown.
