Many firms are exploring heavy oil sands within the northeastern and east central re- gions of Alberta. Enhanced recovery of heavy oil requires huge amounts of front end capital investment. The decision to invest often re- quires that reliable estimates of oil in place be obtained from well logs. A method of analysis is herein presented for discussion.
