Abstract
A drill cuttings sampling device was used to obtain cuttings samples continuously from a well in East Texas during drilling and coring opera- tions. The mineralogy of drill cuttings and core samples at equivalent depths were compared and evaluated to determine if cuttings samples could be used to reliably interpret formation lithology. The mineralogy of drill cuttings and core samples were then compared with downhole logs to correlate mineralogical trends seen on the logs.
