Abstract

Horizontal well log evaluation is different from that of vertical or deviated wells. The fact that horizontal wells are not perfectly horizontal, and that either the hole or the formation is not exactly where it is projected to be, emphasizes the need for accurate log evaluation. Since logging tools were designed assuming symmetry in the formation around the wellbore, special considerations must be made when evaluating horizontal wells.
