Abstract

Development drilling of shallow gas fields in Western Canada often involves atypical well evaluation processes as typically no case/abandon decision is involved. In one common scenario, wells are drilled, cased and only then logged and evaluated. Zone(s) are then, in turn, selected, perforated, stimulated and flow evaluated prior to being put on production. This batch process is scalable and applied to programs of scores or even hundreds of wells.
