Abstract

The Monkman area in NE British Columbia contains 7-10 Tcf of sour gas reserves in fractured Triassic carbonates that have been extensively folded into asymmetric fault-related folds. Porosities are low (2-6%) and fractures are crucial for deliverabilities in the 20-50 mrncf/d range. In this study we identified fracture distributions in 15 wells within the trend. We then tied the observed fracture distribution to production logs from a subset of these wells.
