Abstract

Determination of lithofacies and depositional environment from logs has been the subject of extensive studies especially with application of the dipmeter surveys. On the other hand, in the petrophysical evaluation models, lithology was generally treated according to common rock types, i.e., sandstones, limestones, dolomites, etc., without taking into account depositional facies. The method presented in this paper combines both approaches in one consistent interpretation model applied to an Elkton dolostone reservoir in Alberta.
