Abstract

Digital array tools generate full acoustic waveforms to detect individual arrivals via cross-correlation, semblance, or incoherence techniques. In computing compressional, shear, and stoneley slownesses (inverse of velocity) the objective has been traditionally to calculate the best correlation, the best likeness, or the minimum incoherence of the corresponding arrivals.
