Abstract
The purpose of the paper is to raise the question: Are your current formation testing procedures an asset or expense to your company? The author uses five examples of different DST evaluation techniques, taken at random, to illustrate the difference. The inference is made that by proper (complete) evaluation money can be spent more wisely, and conversely that by ignoring available data excessive money could be spent in the wrong place – an expense.
